Kidney diseases is on the rise in Sub-Saharan. It is estimated more than 500,000 individuals succumb to end stage renal disease annually in Sub-Saharan Africa with an additional 50 million people suffering from pre-dialysis chronic kidney disease. These numbers will then affect the economic, social and physical livelihoods of patients and their family members, creating an endless cycle of health problems.
We are currently raising funds to establish several Centers for Kidney Studies throughout the Sub-Saharan region. These Centers will focus on isolating the causes in these particular areas and teaching patients and healthcare workers on the steps to prevent Chronic Kidney Disease. The Centers will also provide treatment in the form of dialysis as well as aftercare services.
We would also be very grateful for the donation of used dialysis equipment.
